Australia: New man’s government to be investigated over a bush that was cleared

Anti-corruption watchdog is asking the Crime and Corruption Commission to investigate Newman’s government for allowing a mining company to clear a bush.  “The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) will look at a complaint about the former government's decision to sanction the work even after the company admitted it did not have the required permits” says media reports. Minister for State Development Anthony Lynham prompted the referral after local landholders raised the issue and pointed out that one of the former ruling Liberal National Party's biggest donors has a significant financial stake in the mine.
